Nuff talk! Having discussed this for months, and even received 5 pounds seed capital from the main investor Chris to go towards the domain name, the site is finally in a state to be released.
From registration of domain name to having the first venue reviewed (The Kings Arms, of course) and rated took about five hours, including a nice lunch. Amazing what you can piece together today using existing tools like WordPress and the 1-click installer at my excellent web host Mediatemple, Google Maps and the plethora of plugins and themes available to WordPress.
Still to add: some sort of photo gallery functionality. Flickr? But I want people to be able to contribute photos themselves… Maybe also a way to let visitors tag the venues with meta data.
